Nissan to Host Series of Free Seminars on Child Passenger Safety; Nissan's ``Quest For Safety'' Campaign Supports National Child Passenger Safety Week
GARDENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2004--Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) and two local Los Angeles community organizations, PUENTE Learning Center and Crystal Stairs, are partnering to offer free child passenger safety seminars in support of National Child Passenger Safety Week. As part of NNA's Quest for Safety campaign, the first seminar will be at Crystal Stairs on February 10 followed by two at PUENTE Learning Center facilities on February 11 and 12.
In a joint effort with local Crystal Stairs and PUENTE Learning Centers, the free seminars will provide parents and caregivers critical information on child passenger safety laws and the proper installation of a child safety seat. Nissan's safety engineers will be on-hand to answer specific questions about child seat safety.
"Automobile-related accidents are the leading cause of death for children ages 4-14," said Robert Yakushi, director of product safety at NNA. "Nissan is proud to offer the Quest for Safety program to educate communities with low child seat usage about child seat safety and the proper installation and use of child safety seats. The information provided in these sessions could help save a child's life."
